The flowers at the Truffula Tree
Spring has arrived with its colors and its flowers. On the mountain white snowcaps, reminders of the passing winter, a force still lingering, still waiting, still bidding his chances. Flowers exploring the new year, carefully at first, bolder with every day. Birds are arriving in ever growing numbers. There singing in the morning awakens the sleeping valley.
Winter is still sending some mornings a fresh breeze down the rocks, the sun already warming us. The early battle between cold and warm is still balanced, the heat has not beaten the old winter back.
The days now feel long and it is a pleasure to eat lunches outside warmed up in the rays of the sun.
I love this explosion of new colors. This year I decided to be more attentive, observing month by month all the changes that the garden offers, sharing with you all the new comers.
My best wishes to you all for a new season!
January
Covered by a white mantel of snow, it seems like everything at the Truffula Tree is sleeping. The sun rises low in the horizon and hides behind the small hill of Malga Campo until about 10 in the morning. Still, the roses planted around the garden bloom in all their beauty, and their burned red color is even more vivid against the white of freshly felt snow. A real heart warmer!
February
The primroses along the pond were the first one to enjoy the sun from these longer days, along slowly colonized different niches in the gardern. All the rest seems still sleeping…
March
The most beautful flower was taken by some amazing spanish guests! This little baby slept happily in the hammock warmed by the midday sun! All around him, white, yellow, pink and purple snowdrops pointed the while garden in a full carneval mood! A little spanish girl enjoyed looking for chocolate Easter eggs hidden between these flowers…

The peach, the apples, the pear trees were covered up with flowers, the wallnuts are gently re-awakening, the berries and the asparagours are pocking out the ground, tarassaco is everywhere to be picked and dried (for those who love colored salad and warm Teas!) and even the edges surprised me with the most visit Color!
